Directly below the Salapunco apu is a hand carved limestone altar. The tour guide indicated that this was a place of ceremony. Offerings are made to the Salapunco apus within this underground cavern. I really wish I had had some personal time within this energy vortex so that I could have "sensed" the energies which is obvious the Inca new so well.
