If you arrive to Machu Picchu via the Inca Trail, the Guardhouse will be the first building you will come to. Machu Picchu was originally built with only one entrance to this great lost city of the Incas. The other sides of the city are shear drop offs. The Guardhouse is also situated well above the rest of the city of Machu Picchu.
