Since my trip did not include the 3-4 day walk of the Inca Trail, I took the early morning bus ride from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu. This ride is about a 20 minute ride on a zig-zag tight one-way dirt road. There were several times that we had to either totally stop to allow another bus to pass, or back up so that the bus coming down from Machu Picchu could pass.
